The homemade desserts, particularly the Bakewell Tart and warm chocolate brownie, leave diners swooning. Some patrons mention the limited beer selection, feeling it doesn't quite match the expansive menu offerings. A few diners find the prices on the higher side, particularly for those enjoying multiple courses. During busy periods, service can slow down, leading to longer waits for food. While the restaurant caters well to various tastes, certain dishes may not suit everyone's preferences, specifically those who lean towards more traditional fare. These minor drawbacks do not overshadow the overall dining experience but are worth noting.
After walking past Plesters for years, finally took the plunge and visited and was not disappointed. The Black Pudding starter was delicious, the Steak perfectly cooked medium rare and a delicious home made Bakewell Tart. Topped off with a fantastic bottle of Rose. Lovely food, friendly service and a nice atmosphere. Definitely will return to try some of the other dishes. Thank you!
Intimate dining with the kitchen right out in the corner. Excellent food and when the appetizer I wanted was out they made me something close from scratch. Great food and great service.
Excuse the half eaten nature of the food in the photos but it's a cracking little laid back eatery. Good value but not the cheapest. An eclectic mix of food from the signature surf n turf to Jamaican jerk with rice n peas, not to mention several other seafood and meat dishes. Generous food portion sizes but a limited beer selection, however it's cold and fresh. A warm and friendly welcome from the staff too. Will definitely be going again.
Lovely place, amazing food, friendly staff. Just had a meal at this place and loved all of it, starters, main and desserts plate all empty not a crumb left. Would definitely recommend this place.
Had my wedding reception here. Just perfect!! Everything I wanted and more. Pansy and Jez lovely people, food was 10/10 and the restaurant/ table decoration looked fabulous. Just wish I could do it all again. Xx
Brilliant find. We stayed locally on a biking trip and stumbled upon Plesters by chance. Tried the Salt & Pepper fish starter and Fish Stew main on night one. Enjoyed it so much we returned for Black Pudding starter and Steak on night 2. Everything done to order with only one front of house and one chef so you need to be prepared to wait ......but it's worth it. Highly recommended if you are in the area.
Used a Groupon voucher. Good choice on the menu, lovely food, well cooked, will be going back.
